114 lbs. World Record Roosterfish.

The world record Roosterfish was caught in the waters of Isla Cerralvo — exactly where our captains from Agua Amarga have worked for generations. This is not a claim. It is a fact verified in the record books.

On most charters, the first hours disappear hunting for live bait. Not with us — our local cooperative in Agua Amarga nets fresh bait before dawn and meets you on the water at Ensenada de Muertos. Lines in the water from the moment you arrive.

Pez Gallo · Con Mosca · On the Fly

Chasing Roosters
on the Fly.

"Rooster! Rooster! ROOSTER!!"

— the moment every angler comes for

The pez gallo is saltwater fly fishing's great prize — and one of its hardest-won. Sight-casting to a cruising rooster in the wash is a blend of stalking, timing, and controlled chaos. The fish is fast, wary, and unforgiving of a slow delivery. Landing one on the fly is a milestone few anglers ever reach.

Our Captains Are Fly Pros — From Agua Amarga

It takes a genuinely skilled guide to put you on a shot at your dream rooster on the fly. Fishing from the panga, our captains toss live sardines to hold the fish boatside — keeping the rooster fired up and in range for those few critical seconds you need to drop the fly in the strike zone and strip fast. They read the fish, position the panga, and create the window. You make the cast — they give you the chance.

Sight-Casting

Spot the fish, get into position, deliver the fly — from the panga or walking the beach

Live Bait Boatside

The captain chums live sardines to hold the fish near the boat — buying you those seconds to make the cast. 9-12 weight rods, fast retrieves

More Than Roosters

Toros (jack crevalle), dorado, and pelagics will all eat a fly when the bait is thick

Conventional · Spinning & Baitcasting

Beginner to
Salty Angler.

Whether it's your first time holding a rod or you've fished these waters for decades, conventional tackle puts you on whatever's in season — swimming live sardines drifted in the current, trolling the edges, jigging structure, or casting to bait balls working the surface. Our panga is a small platform built for exactly one thing — fishing — with nothing extra in the way.

Live Bait Drifting

Swimming sardines drifted naturally in the current — the most effective way to draw a strike from whatever's feeding that day

Trolling & Jigging

Working the edges and structure for Dorado, Tuna, and Wahoo — active techniques for active anglers

Casting to Structure

Roosterfish and jacks holding tight to rocks and bait balls — precision casts, explosive strikes
